About the Program

The University of Georgia offers an online Master of Music Education program designed for currently certified Georgia music teachers who wish to further develop their teaching and research expertise. With a choice of emphasis in general, choral, or instrumental music, the master’s degree in Music Education prepares teachers to assume academic leadership roles in curriculum design, mentorship, and research.

This 100% online master’s program is offered by the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia and can be completed in an accelerated track of 14 months.

Music Education students participate in interactive discussions and seminars to design and share innovative teaching strategies with their peers. Upon graduation, music teachers then apply these methodologies in their practice.
