About the Program
The University of Georgia offers an Online Master of Food Technology program that covers food chemistry, microbiology, packaging, processing, ingredients, and policy. This non-thesis degree is offered fully online and can be completed in two and a half to three years.
Before graduating, students in the Food Technology program complete an exit project, conducting comprehensive research and an exhaustive analysis of a current topic in food science.
Faculty members come from various backgrounds—they’ve conducted multidisciplinary research at the interface between citrus production and juice processing, developed artificial stomach models for the study of food digestion, and written about the separation and characterization of phenolic compounds from dry-blanched peanut skins.
Graduates of the program go on to careers in food science research, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, product development, fermentation management within the beverage and other industries, sales, and more.
The University of Georgia is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and School Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
