The MEd program provided a strong foundation to understanding the intricacies and complexity of higher education. Not only did I learn from incredible peers who added to my growth through their student and work experiences, but I also felt challenged by faculty to become a critical thinker, a robust scholar, and a transformative practitioner. This graduate program not only unlocked my career trajectory through a degree, but it also equipped me with the tools to provide value, credibility, and expertise to my previous and current roles.

About the Program

The Master of Education in Higher Education Administration program  will covers numerous areas of study in higher education. Through coursework and experiences designed to examine critical issues in the field - such as student access, equity, and success – and develop skills aimed at solving them. 

Completion of the degree requires 36 credit hours which consists of 9 classes offered in 8-week blocks and a collaboratively designed, three-semester practicum (additional 9 hours) to build your experience and apply what you learn.

This program will prepare you for entry- and mid-level administrative roles in colleges and universities, as well as, analyst positions in a variety of governmental and nonprofit organizations.

Recent graduates of our in-person MEd program work in areas such as student affairs, service learning, college admissions, university financial affairs, disability services, and recreation sports, as well as completing doctoral programs in higher education. We anticipate similar outcomes for graduates of our online program.

Much of your coursework can be completed as your busy schedule permits, whether that means during lunch breaks at your 9-5, on the weekends before watching the big game, or at night when the family has gone to bed. 

Your diploma reflects the qualification you earned, not how the education was delivered. Your UGA diploma is a mark of your academic achievement and does not specify how it was obtained. UGA maintains the same high standards across all its programs, whether online or on-campus, ensuring that every graduate earns the same prestigious degree.
