My experience with UGA’s graduate program was truly transformative. The curriculum was rigorous enough to be challenging and provided me with knowledge that was relevant to my field of study as a transportation engineer. About the Program

The University of Georgia now offers its Master of Science in Civil Engineering 100% online, on your own time. This program is designed to allow working engineering professionals to become well-equipped to tackle complex engineering challenges, contribute to teamwork, and drive positive change in their communities and professional fields through innovative infrastructure solutions.

Taught by the same faculty as UGA’s campus-based program, the M.S. in Civil Engineering provides specialized expertise in civil engineering by offering a rigorous curriculum, including studio courses that involve real-world case studies from seasoned civil engineers.

The online degree is conferred without any indication of its mode of study, ensuring it holds the same recognition and equivalence as the on-campus degree.

  • A.I. and Informatics in Civil Engineering
  • Forensics of Civil Engineering Materials
  • Computational Modeling Studio

This project-based, non-thesis online Master of Science can be completed in as little as two years, earning 33 credit hours in 8-week blocks. Graduates of the program gain the credentials to enhance their earning potential and can assume a variety of roles in both the public and private sectors.

Applicants holding a B.S. or an M.S. in engineering from an ABET-accredited (or equivalent) program or a B.S. or an M.S. in a related field from an accredited institution are invited to apply for admission. Those already holding a PE or an SE designation are considered highly qualified. DOT engineers welcome.

The University of Georgia is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and School Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
